Eligibility Requirements For Admission

  • All men and women of 60 years of age and above are eligible for admission without any discrimination of caste, creed and race.
  • The applicant will have to fill up the prescribed application form and will have to sign it along with his / her guardian. Furthermore, the applicant will have to give an undertaking letter to abide by the rules and regulations of JMJ Shanthi Sadan presently in force and as amended from time to time in future.
  • A medical report with health issues of past and present along with the latest blood report signed by the family physician of the applicant will have to be submitted to the admission committee.
  • The applicant will also undergo a medical examination by a doctor appointed by the director of Shanthi Sadan.
  • The applicant should be free from infectious diseases, and from mental disorders.
  • A personal interview of the applicant along with the guardian will be conducted by the director and members of admission committee to finalize the admission.
  • The admission committee reserves the right to admit or reject the application as it judges without assigning any reason.
  • Admission granted to the residents shall initially be for a period of six months and shall not in any way confer any right on them. The management of the institution shall have full power to discontinue or remove any of the residents from the premises of JMJ Shanthi Sadan without assigning any reason.

Accomadation

Comprehensive housing services are available to all the residents throughout the stay at Shanthi Sadan. They are free to choose from the following three types of housing accommodation subject to their availability.

  • Single occupancy room with attached bath and toilet.
  • Double occupancy room with attached bath and toilet (Common).
  • Double occupancy room with two attached bath and toilets (to each occupant a separate one).
  • Shared accommodation for four residents in a large room (for each a separate cubicle) with four attached bath rooms and toilets. (For each a separate one)
  • Room includes facilities like toilets with anti – skid flooring, glazed wall tiles, grab bar, geezer, wash basin, mirror, good quality commode; also, cot, mattress, pillows, wall cupboards, celling fans, chair and table. Provision for T V and A C connection is available.
  • T V, Refrigerator, water dispenser, R O water purifier, and similar facilities are provided for common use of the residents.
  • Specious and well – furnished lounges are available on each floor of Shanthi Sadan for relaxing, indoor games and socializing by the inmates.
  • The residents of Shanthi Sadan are required to bring articles of their personal usage such as their clothes, toilet articles, medicines, bed linen, shoes and other things as required by them.
  • Residents should use the accommodation of Shanthi Sadan (including the common facilities, amenities and the campus) with due care, to avoid any loss, breakage or damage. In the event of occurrences of any such loss, breakage, damage due to negligence or misuse by a resident member or his / her visitors the cost involved for repair or replacements as determined by the management will be recovered from the member concerned.
  • Smoking or drinking alcohol, tobacco, gutka or any betel chewing and card playing for money within the premises is strictly prohibited.
  • No inmate will be allowed to keep firearms or weapons with him / her in the premises.
  • It is to be understood that no inmate enjoys any proprietary or other rights, title or interest in respect of any room or over any part / portion of the properties of JMJ Shanthi Sadan.

Food

  • Well prepared, clean and hygienic food with veg and non-veg items catering to all the nutritional needs of the residents will be provided.
  • Shanthi Sadan will provide tea at 6 am, breakfast at 7.30 am, tea at 10 am, lunch at 12.30 pm, tea and snacks at 4.pm and dinner at 7pm at these fixed hours in the dining hall only.
  • Care must be taken not to waste food.
  • In case of special requirement of food outside the menu, Shanti Sadan will try to provide the same on extra payment as fixed by the management.

Service

Monthly payments include the cost of food, accommodation, water, electricity, staff salaries, building maintenance, newspaper, security, primary health care services etc.

  • Any other extra services like laundry, guest food, attenders’ food, special diet, Special medical care etc. will be additionally charged according to the prevailing rates fixed by the management.
  • The security deposit is refundable without interest to the resident member at the time of leaving the institute after deducting dues if any. In case of death the amount will be returned to the nominee as mentioned in the application form of the resident.
  • The monthly charges must be paid regularly by every resident on or before 5th of every month in the office of the institute or by on line payment.
  • Payment can be made by cheque/ DD or bank transfer. Details of the bank transaction will be furnished at the time of admission.

The management of Shanthi Sadan will revise the charges from time to time based on the cost of living.
